Hi, I'm new to macs and this forum. I just bought a imac 5521 at a yard sale for $10 so thought I'd give it a try. They said it worked great and I just plugged it in and there is a folder with a question mark flashing. I have no cd installation discs. Can someone please help?

The flashing question mark means that the Imac can't see the HD or there is no OS installed. You'll need to find a install disk which in your case would be OS 9.04. It will be hard to find the disk nowadays but you can try EBay or Amazon. If you can't find the original install disk, the retail version (white disk) will work as well. When you do find a disc,start the Imac up,insert disk and restart holding down the "C" key. After a few seconds the Imac should boot from the Disc and you should be able to troubleshoot from there.
