imac cd ejection

so there i was attempting to install osx on this pink imac and the hard drive bombed. like knocked loudly a couple dozen time and just died. so now my osx cd is stuck in the drive. i'm kinda frizzled here. how can i get it out?

there should be a tine hole nearby the CD-drive, get a paperclip, straighten it, and push it to the hole, it should get the CD ou... at least in Tray-loading iMacs, maybe in slot loaders too... If not, switch the iMac on and hold the mouse button, this is common force eject removable media...

I believe with the slotloading drives you have to have power to the drive. If you power it up and push a paperclip into the hole it should eject the CD. Alternately, I believe that holding the mouse button down will also work.
