Greetings. Last evening I tried to hook up an external monitor as a secondary monitor to my iMac 20".
I have:
the iMac
an apple mini-DVI-to-DVI adapter
a Monster DVI-to-DVI cable
a Westinghouse monitor with only a VGA input only
the DVI-to-VGA adapter which came with my Mac Mini
The mini-DVI-to-DVI adapter did not fit into the DVI-to-VGA adapter so that I could plug it into the monitor. What was peculiar was that it almost fit--but something prevented the DVI end of the mini-DVI-to-DVI cable from inserting into the DVI-to-VGA adapter.
What am I doing wrong?

PS: I made sure to match the pins and the wide pin as well.
