iMac G3 400 SE Max memory?

Hi, I have an iMac G3 400mhz SE (comes with DVD) w/ 128mb currently installed. I've read on some sites that it supports 512mb ram max, and others say 1gig max. I want to upgrade my memory so I can run Mac OS X a little faster . Does the iMac have two memory slots? And whats the max memory per chip per slot? Also, any recommendations on sites with good memory prices? Thanks!

the max memory is 512 mbyte which is what I currently have installed in mine. try http://www.ramseeker.com for ram prices.

Do you know if its 256 mb per slot? Or 512mb on one chip?

I am pretty sure its just one chip but you can easily check just open the little hatch on the back of the computer and the ram slot is right at the top
