D DTK64 Registered Sep 5, 2009 #1 My iMac runs for 10-15 minutes and then turns itself off. This has happened 3-4 times in a row.
Giaguara Chmod 760 Staff member Mod Sep 5, 2009 #2 When it turns itself off, and you power it on after, open Console (/Applications/Utilities). Go back in time just before it powered off. What shows as the last lines? Look for 'shutdown' in the logs, does it list a line with the cause number?

djackmac ACMT Sep 6, 2009 #3 Pop the back off and look for blown capacitors. If there are no blown/bulging caps it is probably just a dying power supply and those run about $100.
