iMac G5 won't boot

I just installed new RAM in my 17in iMac G5 running Tiger. After closing the case and reconnecting everything it won't boot. When I press the power button theres a loud whirring sound (sounds like the DVD drive), a single ping (not the apple bong) and the sleep light flashes.

No screen activity. No startup.

Help!

What you're experiecing is what happens when a RAM chip is either not fully seated into its socket or is incompatible/defective.

Whenever something wonky like this happens, reseat the RAM. If it doesn't work, then replace it or get the right type of RAM.
