imac keeps rebooting every 10 seconds

I will have to definitely keep that in mind for my worst case scenario. The problem with that is my wife has all our children's pictures saved on that computer. It's just over a year old and we didn't worry about the new pictures being backed up yet. Do you have any more ideas in mind?? Thank you very much!!
 
I'm not saying to use your installer to wipe the drive. I'm just saying see if it boots to DVD. If so go to utilities/disk utility in the installer. Then run disk repair on your Hard drive and see if it will repair.
 
Thank you all for your help. What the problem was is that we had it plugged into a converter. I am in the AF and we live in England thus utilizing converters. Well My wife and I didn't know that Mac's have the built in ability to switch from 110-220. So we just plugged the Mac into a British plug and straight into the wall and it fired right up!! Thank you everyone for your help!!
