iMac monitor caught fire and thus was born TupperMac!

As many of you know some of the first iMacs had some issues with their monitors. About a year ago the monitor in our iMac G3/266 caught fire and, in a large puff of black smoke, quickly smoldered itself out. Although the monitor was completely toasted the iMac itself was still operational!

I quickly transplanted the internals of the iMac into a Tupperware container, separated all the electrical bits with the plastic cover, plugged a VGA converter into the motherboard and plugged in an old Sony 17" CRT.

I was wondering if anyone else had any iMac resurrection stories. :D

The TupperMac is now running 10.2 and is happily acting as a print server. :D

Woah! You win the award for finding a way to make your mac easier to upgrade than my QuickSilver 933! :D

A tupperware container, huh!?!?!?! I thought that drop down side was pretty easy!

Just don't drink around the thing...hehe
