Since a few days now, my iMac does not save any settings anymore.
I first recognized that my startup items (network drives) did not work anymore; instead of my username/password there was a cryptical number in username and password was blank. Deleting the drives and re-adding them in the startup items in user preferences does not solve the problem, since this information is not saved and the described problem reappears after rebooting. I did not pay attention to this, anyway, because I do not reboot my imac very often.
After that, I got the upgrade from EyeTV 3.0 to 3.1, and the new iLife09. With all programs associated there is the same problem: All of them think that they are started for the first time - means, EyeTV always wants to have the EULA accepted, iPhoto scans the library and opens the "first-time user" windows with the tutorial videos (iMovie the same), and iMovie for example does not save the login details for YouTube publishing. Apart from that, the programs and the mac generally work fine without problems.
It would be very nice if you have a solution, otherwise I would have to reinstall my iMac (TimeMachine is no option here, since I assume the error is saved in the baclup as well), and this will be very time consuming.
Thank you very much for your support.
