Does anybody remeber when the iMacs first started including DVD player and they were shipped with a free DVD? My old school bought the iMac DV SE's when they first came out. They came with a copy of "A Bug's Life" on DVD. We used to take turns taking it home to watch. I still have that DVD.:D

I wonder whay Apple dosen't send DVDs their DVD equiped macs anymore.

The legal and logistical implications of shipping a DVD with the computer are awkward from Apple's point of view, especially when you throw in region-codes. Plus, you really can't cater to everybody's tastes. Including a DVD movie would just annoy a lot of people who didn't really want to pay for that film (which they would be doing, however you look at it).

However, from the point of view of a particular dealer or Apple store, it might be a little more practical.

Apple ran that promotion at the launch of their early DVD equipped computers to help boost interest in the technology, but now that DVDs are so common and easy to find, there is little to be gained from this type of promotion.
