image capture in 10.2 ?

i have never been able to get it to work. it hangs on the first photo or movie and then cpu usage goes to 100% and if i dont have terminal open and ready to kill the process chances are i have to pop the battery

image capture used to work fine in 10.1 with my elph but since i installed 10.2 (clean installed, twice, beacuse of this problem) and its not the camera because it doesnt work with my new elura either

ive been using a cf to pcmcia adapter to get around this but i cant do that with my elura, and image capture is much easier anyway

anyone else have this problem or any ideas?
 
I use Image Capture too, but i've noticed that it's just a generally buggy and somewhat underdeveloped app. Shame, really, since it's so much cleaner and simpler than something like iPhoto. I wish Apple would put some more work into it.
