I am now able to get into my office system using some VPN software. Once I did this, I told Mail about my mail account on the office machine (an AIX machine). I have both pop and imap running but I choose to use imap.
Now when I start Mail up, it is busy for a very long time and I finally figured out that it is running up and down my entire file hierachy of the machine at work. Eventually it produces the tree @IBM with lots of things that it things are folders but are actually just flat files.
Is this configurable? Does the imap daemon on my office machine need to be set up differently? Can I tell Mail not to do this? It seems like everyone using imap would hit this same problem.
