iMovie and jpg's

Barking at the moon.
I just made my first iMovie with my camcorder, and it turned out slick! I couldn't believe how easy it was. (that sounded like a promo, but whatever)

Anyhow, along with the camcorder I took a bunch of pics with a digital camera that I was hoping to insert in the movie. From iMovie, when I went to File > Import... and I browsed to my Pictures folder, it would only allow me to use a few of the digital jpg files (naturally, none of them were the pics I wanted).

Anyone know why this is and how I can get iMovie to import jpgs? Thanks in advance. :)
 
This might sound stupid, but did you try to open the JPEG in Quicktime and then export it as a DV stream? iMovie can import DV streams...theoretically, it COULD be possible to do it this way....
