???Installation osx on powerMac 8600/250???

Ok, it's possible with that utilities, but why doing it ?
I mean, isn't the 8600 too slow to run an OSX ?
Tell me what you've experienced, please, I have a old 8500 i'd like to run on a OSX, or a OSX serveur. (some Linux users use 486x as servers, no ?).

I bet an 8600 would make a pretty good webserver or mail server if it wasn't under too much load.

I actually want to get one just for that purpose, but I gotta save up my money. :)

You think so ? How much RAM would you advise me (they are so expensive for that old machines) ?

I'm not sure about how much the RAM costs for 8600s but, Apple recommends at least 128MB I believe. For a system that old, I'd just get as much as you can afford and see how it runs.

If you already have a copy of OSX, it wouldn't hurt just to try it out. You could always delete it if it was too slow.
