Installer Quitting Randomly

I just got a mac from my grandfather. Its an iMac and a little bit older but can be updated to todays software... for my college we have to install a safe connect internet thing and every time it says installer has closed un-expectedly and I want to know why.

It is either a corrupt file you are trying to install, or it is not for the Mac.

Trash the installer file (s) and try downloading again. Make sure it is specifically for Mac and it covers the OS version you have.

There may be other reasons - such as not enough room on your drive for the installation. How much free space do you have on the iMac?
