Installing Gimp

Any advice on how to install the gimp graphics library to work with the version of Perl that came with my OS X 10.1? I'm about to download it now - but not sur what to do with it, or where to put it - when I have it.

You mean to get the Perl stuff in Gimp working?

If that's the case, you need to download:

Gtk perl extension (can get it from ftp.gimp.org/pub/gtk/perl/)

PDL, the Perl Data Language (can get it from www.cpan.org - search for PDL).

Then you'd have to compile them (pretty simple...go into the folder where the source stuff you downloaded is at, and do perl ./Makefile.PL).

Um...if that's not what you meant at all, then sorry.

On another note, why the fsck is MacGIMP pay-to-download? In case you havn't heard about it, a group of some people ported The GIMP to Aqua, but want $15 for a download of it!
