Installing Java on Windows Partition

So far I have tried to install the latest Java, or any version of Java for that matter, along with the latest version of flash on my windows xp partition on my MacBook. However, when I try to install Java, I receive the following error code:

"Error 25099. Unzipping Core Files Failed."

And then when I tried to install Flash, I got the following error code:

"Error Opening File For Writing:

C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\npswf32.dll "

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

With Java, It sounds like you need something to uncompress Zip files like Stuffit. As for Flash, it seems like you should already have part of Flash. Try downloading it from here.

Java for Windows is available as an installer. There should be no need to uncompress anything. Did you download the Offline Installer for Java? They usually have two types of installers for Java: online (which requires an internet connection in order to install) and offline (which is larger, but includes all of the components needed to install Java).

yea, i tried the offline version, but it still didnt work... ill try again later 2day... i havent had too much time since my first post... but ill keep you guys posted...

thanks

Any application installers that are for the Windows platform need to be done from within Windows. You can't install them into your Windows partition while running in OS X.

Are you running Windows using Boot Camp or are you running Windows in a virtual machine through Parallels or VMware Fusion?
