Installing Macos 9 on Jaguar

Hi

I did a clean install of 10.2 on my iBook and I need to install a classic environment. I have the Macos 9 install CD that came with my iBook. If I install this over Jaguar will my system end up as it originally was with 10.1, i.e. with seperate Macos 9 sytem and application folders. I don't want to mess up my current 10.2.1 system.

Thanks.

Here's what I did. Boot your machine off your OS 9 CD, Install right on to the OS X partition you've created, upon completion your machine will reboot into the classic environment you've installed. Goto start up in the control panel and you will have the choice of OS's to boot from. Launch a classic app from OS X and the classic environment should update itself to run in the background while X is running.

I thought that you had to install OS 9 first, before OS X. And you have had no problems?

The only problem you have is that you will have to select the correct start up disk again. it's really not to big of a deal.

if you still feel kinda sketchy about doing that, you will find a disk image of your ibook HD on the system restore CD. if you mount the disk image you can drag your system folder off of that, onto your HD.
