Installing os 9.1 w/ osx already installed (Help!)

I have a power mac G4 with osx. I acquired an os 9.1 intallation disk.

I need 9.1 on my osx so I am able to run programs in "classic".

Should I just throw the disk in? Or is there a proper way to do it?

That is the proper way.

However, you might be in a bit of a quandary. See, Apple never made OS 9 installers that ran natively in OS X. So if you have a machine that doesn't boot into OS 9, you'll probably have to copy the 9 boot folder from the disc to your drive, launch Classic, and then install 9. If you have a machine that can boot into OS 9, insert the CD and reboot holding the C key.
