pulled my hd from my g4 pb and put it in an enclosure, plugged it in to my macbook and BAM, there it was. Problem was, i could look at everything but not erase or write to the drive. i copied some files from it but none would go ONto it... Tried to format it, but said i didnt have permission. i'd heard that some Hd's have some sort of protection on them that they have to be in the computer itself to work, but never got any proof of that or hard evidence, just heresay.

wow, 1.4g is way faster!
click once on the drive, then goto file>get info. at the bottom of the window that comes up there will be a little check box that says "ignore permissions on this drive" check it, and you problems should go away. but don't try sticking it back into a laptop to boot from.
