internal DVD-R drive question

I would like to buy an internal DVD-R to replace my mac's CD-R. I have the 733 MHz quicksilver model and I would like to know what internal DVD-R burners OS X supports. I am just looking to use Toast so I'm not wondering if iDVD works, I'm just curious about the general compatability of the various DVD-R drives made by companies other than Pioneer. Do Panasonics, Sonys or Phillips internal DVD-R's work with OS X? Thanks -Ryan

Toast supports many drives. LaCie is a good one. And I use Toast on OS X with mine. That's all I recomend since I never had a problem with any of LaCie's drives. :)

LaCie last I checked uses Pioneer DVD-R drives.

Your best bet it to use a superdrive. For a comprehensive listing of dvd-r drives that work and dont' work go to http://www.xlr8yourmac.com and check out the drive compatability database.
