I'm having a weird problem changing networks
I have macbook pro 2.0
Mac OSX 10.4.8
I have 2 networks I bounce back and forth(home and office) 1 is wireless and the other is wired(ethernet.) I use static IP's for all my computers so I have a location set up in Network that is set up manually. All works great.
The trouble is when I switch to Automatic and have the dhcp server set up my ip and dns(public wifi's and such) Internet Connect says I'm connected to xyz network, I have signal strength, and a base station ID.
I also get a IP number, subnet mask and router IP.
But when I connect using either firefox, safari or mail, It says I'm not connected?
try the dianostics... but no avail.

I can't even hook up to my home or office network using dhcp.
Internet connect says I connected, I have signal strength, and Base ID number.
I even have ip address assigned, subnet mask and router Ip address...but when I connect using firefox, safari or mail...nothing. I says "cannot connect to page **** because you're not connected to the internet??
If I switch back to manually, all is fine again.
I sure would like to use public hotspots when I on the road, but can't seem to get around this???
Can anyone help???
Thanks
John
