Internet much slower after changing to router

- what kind of router?
- what kind of internet connection?
- what os x are you running?
- on what computer?

Trendnet Wireless ADSL Modem Router
Wireless Connection (Full Strength)

IMac G5

also, every morning I have to switch the router off and on to connect again

If your router has to be turned off/on to work properly, i suppose it is bad (or your compouter is bad). You should try using a cable and verify the speed. Itf that is also slow, most likely your router is causing the problem and bad / incompatible.
