Internet Speec Mac and PC Network

Hi

I saw the question from the guy who has a Mac G5 with OS 10.4 on a network with a PC and the Mac has much slower internet download time than the PC. What was the solution?

I know that the Mac is set on automatic configuration for speed and automatic for DNS.

The network is going through a wired Linksys router over a cable modem.

Thanks for any suggestions on how to trouble shoot / fix this problem.

I don't know, but I guess the first answer would have been to turn any services off on both computers and to test throughput while downloading a single large file off the web first on the PC and then on the Mac. This would've shown, I guess, that _basically_ throughput is the same and that it might be an application-specific problem.
