I recently got an iPhone 4 (my first iPhone). I want the iPhone Contacts to sync with my Mac's Apple Address Book. However, this is what happens:
a) New contacts added to my Mac are added to the iPhone (good).
b) Changes made to existing contacts in either location are made in the other location (good).
c) New contacts added to the iphone are NOT added to my Mac (bad).
d) Contacts deleted from one location are deleted from the other location, EXCEPT that I used "Look for duplicates" on my Mac, and although all the duplicate contacts were deleted from my Mac, they are still on my iPhone and won't go away (bad).
I have synced multiple times. I think it's very odd that in light if (a) and (b), problems (c) and (d) still happen.
