iPhoto 6.0.5 crash

After any modification of a 10MPX D80 photo using Photoshop Elements 3 or GimpShop or any other image retouching program, iPhoto Crash while opening (expand) or import in library theese modified images.

Maybe a RAM problem?
I use a G4/1,25GHz; 768MB RAM and OSX 10.4.8
