The folder ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/ contains many photos that should have been deleted from the iPhoto Library, both modified and originals. These photos were put in the iPhoto trash and the trash emptied. They cannot be accessed from iPhoto, only with the Finder.
Is there a way to purge these unwanted photos? Is there some way to force iPhoto to validate the library? Since the iPhoto database doesn't seem to know they exist, can I just delete them using the Finder?
