iphoto in mac 10.3.9

Is it possible to add my canon digital camera so I can upload using image browser. Image browswer tells me no camera attached and I don't know how to tell it my camera is attached. I can upload from this camera but not using image browser. What to do?
 
You have given neither which model Canon you have or which version of iPhoto you are using. That said, Canon does not support USB Automount, the part of the USB standard that allows most digicams to appear as mounted volumes on your Mac Desktop and automatically launch iPhoto without additional drivers. A simple workaround is to use a card reader. Every card reader that I have ever seen supports USB Automount.
