Help!!!

When I turned my mac computer on today I was planning in importing some recent pictures that I took. So I did what I always do and I plugged my camera into my laptop. Usually after about 15 seconds the iPhoto application icon in the dock starts animating and iPhoto opens up for me to download. Today when I plugged my camera in nothing happened. So... i unplugged the camera and plugged it back in and still nothing happened. So i kept the camera plugged in and I went into the Finder application to open the program up from there. And it was completely GONE! I restarted my computer and it still wont work. What do I do?! I had hundreds of pictures in there and now they're gone! Please help! Thanks!

Go into your "Pictures" folder and see if there is a file named "iPhoto Library". If that is still there, then you have not lost your photos. Somehow you must have deleted iPhoto and you will have to reinstall if you cannot find on it.

You might also try this: open time machine and go to date when all was all right>find iphoto>select it and drop down to restore and click on it. it will restore all iphoto to then and all should be okay. it will take a couple of seconds to do.

I lost my Iphoto folder. Is not in my trash, the Icon is there but is grayed out when I click on it it tells me "you can't open the application Iphoto because it is not supported on this architecture"
I tried going into the Iphoto library and nothing comes up.

I downloaded the data rescue 3 program and it has been running for 24hrs already and nothing. I have over 10,000 pictures in my Iphoto and I'm about to go crazy already...

Hi buddy,
First relax, because the photos are not lost only the entries to the iPhoto has deleted using which you access those photos, the photos are still in your Mac hard drive. Just use any iPhoto Recovery software and retrieve your photos from the iPhoto.

All the Best!

Hello,
Thank you for the reply. I am downloading the iphoto recovery right now. However last night I downloaded the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 & 2.
I got the Iphoto icon back, but now when I try to open it it gives a massege that say "You have made changees to your iphoto library using a newer version of iphoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iphoto.

Mind you my Mac OS X is a 10.5.8 version and the iphoto is a 7.1.2 version.
I tried downloading the 8.1.1 but it tells me that I need to have Mac OS X 6.
What should I do????
