iPhoto update

I just clicked in the AppStore to update iPhoto to 9.1.5. It's downloading now. The meter says it's 762 megabytes! Why is this stuff so immense?

It's the complete operating system to replace the old.

That does seem a bit odd that they would make you re-download the entire program. The 9.1.5 update itself is 200 MB, so you think they would require you to do that. I guess Apple felt a need for you to re-download the entire program.
