I'm trying to burn a DVD (4.7GB) of an iPhoto Album (a "mini" iPhoto Library). There are only 35 photos in the Album, yet every time I try, I get a message that says that that there isn't enough room on the disk to do it. I think I should be able to burn 100's (if not thousands) of photos onto a DVD as an iPhoto Library. None of the photos exceeds 1.5 MB. When I select all the photos, the disk burn icon at the bottom of the iPhoto window goes right to "full" in red. If I select individual photos adding one at a time, it indicates plenty of room, but never advances until the last photo, when it goes to "full." It does't matter which photo is last.
I finally gave up and exported them to the desktop and then burned them onto a DVD with no problem, but I know that this loses lots of metadata, including the original, unedited versions, and it's not really what I wanted to do. Why do I get this disk full message, and what can I do about it?
