I hope I'm in the correct place with this question.
I have my iMac set to download my photographs into iPhoto 6 (version 6.0.2).
I keep the photographs in there for about three months, and then I download to cd and to external hard drive.
It has always been my custom to have the preferences set so a double-click opens the photograph in Photoshop, where I work on it before saving it back into iPhoto, or into another folder, as the case may be.
Recently, a glitch has started to show up. On some of my pictures on my iMac at home, I can't get them to open in Photoshop, either by dragging to the icon in the dock or by double-clicking. Neither can I get them out of iPhoto on to the desktop, either by dragging or by ctrl-clicking. I disabled the double-click to Photoshop and reset it to 'open in main window". It won't do that either. I just see a grey box with a dotted-line and a cross in the middle.
All my pictures are showing quite clearly as thumbnails.
I thought this might only be affecting the photographs I had been working on in Photoshop, but the same problem has popped up on my iMac at work and that is affecting all my pictures. And some of those have never been worked on in Photoshop.
I have recently subscribed to both .Mac and iLife. I don't know if there is any connection there?
If you are still with me, I'd appreciate any thoughts and suggestions on this, as it is driving me nuts! I'm going to be taking a lot of photographs over the long weekend coming up and am more than a bit nervous about downloading them into iPhoto.
Thanks in advance
Jacqui
