Well since alot of ppl are saying that the batteries in the ipod are not suited for it i was thinking, If apple realeases a new ipod with better batteries will we old ipod user be able to upgrade our selves to that new batterie? Like just get someone to put it in for us? Getting an ipod soon and dont want to waist my money.

I'm sure that apple has researched the issue quite a bit more than me. The way I figure, apple used the lithium polymer battery not because of it's capacity to hold electricity, but because of the form factor. You can shape it however you want to and it's wafer thin. My only issue is the longevity of the battery. If not properly discharged before recharging it can lose capacity. Just as we're seeing in many pods.

I don't know about the rest of you, but my original 5GB iPod still holds many hours of juice between charges.
