iPod button wont work

I have a 4th gen iPod (with extended warranty if needed ).
I usually use the FF, RW and Play buttons (one big playlist on random).
Today I wanted to access my other playlist and the menu button did not work! When I pressed it it makes the "click" sound that all the other buttons make when you press them but it wont go back!

I know that the menu button worked last week when I switched my playlist.


Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Ok, well, I can't promise anything but maybe a reset would help?

The only problem is, the reset for your iPod is Menu + Select. Try it anyhow, hold it down for about 10 seconds.

Today, for some reason, the forward/back button wouldn't work properly. If I held it down to skip parts of a song, it'd do nothing. But when I let go it'd start the song again.

I did a reset and it all works fine.
I feared that all my data would go bye bye - but it is all there
