iPod firewire microphone!!!

is this not a great idea, for recording a speech, concert, taking notes! Then the iPod could catagorize it and you could upload from your iPod to your mac. This is my idea for you Apple, A firewire microphone for the iPod. What do you guys think?

Have you ever tried recording with an iBook or minidisk or cassette tape recorder? Unless you have a really nice microphone and preamp and good access to your subject the results may be less than satisfying. This is not to say this would not be useful. If you are satisfied with the content of a recording (lectures, meetings, speaches) and don't worry too much about the fidelity it will be great.

To use firewire for *audio* only is a bit pathetic, I believe. Yes, a standard audio-in jack would be great, though. But I still think the Navi project will replace the iPod entirely when it's going to hit the road.
