iPod not Updating recently

Hello,

It used to be that I could plug my ipod into my Powerbook and it would go ahead and start syncing.

Now when I plug it in, it starts charging the battery as normal, but the ipod icon does not appear in the left hand menu of itunes, and the ipod does not start updating the track list as it used to.

Maybe somethng changed in a ipod softare update that requires me to do something now to initiate the sync?

Thanks for any help, I'm clueless!
 
It wouldn't hurt to put in the disc that came with the iPod and look around for the "Repair iPod" option.

It may be that your machine isn't recognizing it correctly.

Someone suggested that I try rebooting the ipod, I did, but that didn't work.

I'll try the CD next time I can get my hands on it!
