iPOD/PDA

Should I buy an iPOD to go with my shiny new iMac or wait till Apple releases a PDA which I'm sure will have MP3 playback ability???

We're already waiting for years for the PDA, and the supergreat iPod is here and now! And I can tell you, it fits perfectly with your shiny new iMac (as it does with mine!)

To release a PDA right now wouldn't be a very good idea. Apple released an MP3-Player (the iPod) when they had the best of them all.

Right now, the diversity of available PDAs is just too vast. Yet another Palm clone wouldn't make any sense. PDAs will have to be small multimedia machines PLUS a communicator by Autumn/Winter.

Apple will update iPod for this year and will wait and watch the market.

As much as we all miss a newer Newton sometimes, right now there are enough PDAs available and Apple's money is better put in the development of better and faster notebooks & desktop machines.

Apple *is* however actively developing the software for their next generation PDA. Look for the Navi thread on this board:

I think the current iPod has all the technology to do amazing things. It just hasn't gotten the software yet. I think apple is getting the iPod out there before they release all the possibilities.

Twister

I never go anywhere whithout my ipod

What I really need is a way to connect my Ipod to my camcorder so I can record directly to the Ipod. For this I would get the 20gb Ipod as soon as it come out.
