iPod ripoff?

I am. I hate companies that copy off great apple products. That look almost identical wonder y no 1 else cares.

actually, it's got the voice recorder and the voice recognition utilz that i wanted in the ipod.

... hmm...

I didn't think that thing would resemble the iPod so much, but…wow. I thought for a moment that it was actually somebody's Photoshop work on a real iPod!

I loved this line from the press release...
" There is nothing else available that matches its elegant looks, full range of features, and cutting-edge Drag ‘n RipTM technology. "
Yeah right...

What I find funny about the the Odyssey 1000 is the specs list transfer via USB 2.0....
But, if you take a look at a nice, close up image of it, you'll find something interesting on the port flap... Infact, here's a link:

you can find the image at the bottom of this page: http://www.edig.com/news/logos.html

If your not too thrilled about downloading a 6.1 MB image, here's what I'm talking about:
ripoff_2.jpg

isn't that a Firewire logo on that flap? ... annd, that orange under the "hold" button.. hmmm...

here's a jpg version of that tiff up there.. its a bit smaller (at 357K)

The best thing about this is that they probably never expected Apple to make their iPod compatible with the PC. Imagine having worked on this thing for long time thinking...oh we struck pure gold with this one, and on July 17 Apple announces that they are going to make their iPod available for the PC.

HAHAHA....I hate rip-offs.

WOW, that is SO blatant of a ripoff. The physical features are nearly identical, the arrangement of ports on top is exactly the same - heck, even the interface, which they could have at least made different to try to avoid lawsuits is EXACTLY the same!

Apple is probably going to sue their pants off and EASILY win. I mean there isn't an ounce of creativity in this product. Surprising how stupid some people can be, hoping consumers will think - oh! an iPod for PC! yay! thanks, ...Odyssey? well, maybe that's Apple's new name.

I think y'all are taking this the wrong way. I mean, isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery?

Nosh

Of course. We just want everybody to have great Apple stuff, that's all. The original Apple products are more often than not, better. ;)
