iPod shuffle won't mount ...

Hi:

Unfortunately, I was trying to play iTunes while using SuperDuper to back up a B&W G3 Tower running OS X 10.4.6 (700+ meg of RAM). I should have known better ... it choked on it and after rebooting the G3 would not run any app after booting.

I did an archive and install with the Tiger DVD OS and everything seems to have come back rather nicely. Have lost no files to my knowledge, but haven't completed transferring over anything in particular from the old OS folder. All users seemed to have transferred over to the new system folder without any problems (did notice that desktop patterns did not come over?). Also, email/ internet seems to be fine.

The only real problem I have is that now the iPod shuffle I have will not mount. I haven't found the cd that came with the shuffle, I need to dig a little deeper around my stacks of cd's to find it.

Is it just a matter of finding that cd and reloading the iPod software? I tried to find a place on Apple's website that had it as a download, but only found iPod updates.

I was rather experienced with troubleshooing OS 9, but haven't got a complete handle on the "ins & outs" of OS X.

Please give me your thoughts ...

Thanks,

Bryan Forbes
