I am one of many who use the "variable bit rating" (VBR) on iTunes. VBR gives an MP3 maximum quality with minimum file size. It's great...unless you own an iPod.
The iPod has a bug where it doesnt play the very end of songs. The longer the song, the sooner the cutoff comes. This is a big problem because in many cases, the best part of a song is at the very end.
Try impressing a friend with an MP3 player that doesnt finish the song.
Don't get me wrong, I do love the iPod. I don't regret that I bought it, but it gets really annoying when this $400 machine takes out the best part of the song.
I reported this to an Apple store genius and there is a big thread about this on the Apple support forums, but it still hasnt been fixed.
