My ipod was connected in my ibook, and I was with the ibook disc utilities opened and I committed mistake the ipod ´s hard drive was formatted I tried to disconnect the ipod but unfortunately it was later. The problem is now after that the ipod still with apple´s logo in the screen and does not restart any more and the hdd still spinning. I´ve tried to hold up the menu button with play , but only thing that happen is ( turn off and frozen ) hdd spinning . After that the ibook and pc don't recognize the ipod.

I am thinking that my ipod is broken.

I will appreciate if anybody have any hint about this issue.

You can use the iPod restore application on the CD that came with the iPod - run the restore program by double-clicking on the restore application icon, then follow the directions.

I ´ve tried but the Ibook does not recognize the Ipod anymore and the Ipod is not running it is still in apple´s logo.

Thanks,

I´tried to locate the ipod hdd in the ibook (disk utilities) and it does not appear also. do you any idea why it is happing ?

could of very well fried the ipod by trying to disconnect it while disk ute was formatting it. which would be the hardware controlers. if that is the case, sorry, but the ipod is now a paperweight.

The "ipod hdd" will not show up unless the iPod
is actually mounted (connected) to the iBook.
Use the links i posted and use the detailed
instructions to reset the iPod.

When you formatted the iPod with Disk Utility, you erased the iPod controllers - so you need to reset
the iPod and reinstall the iPod software.

The iPod software should be somewhere on your iBook install disks - if not, you can download the application from the Apple support site.

Not necessarily - most probably not.
