Is there something wrong with my iPod?

I'll leave my 3rd generation iPod on the dock overnight, and it'll say "charged" (indicating a full charge) on the screen...I'll take it off for 30 seconds and replace it, to update my iTunes library, and instead of being fully charged, it'll spend an hour recharging, even though it was 100% charged when I took it off just a minute before! Is this normal? I don't remember anything like this happening with my 2nd gen. 'pod, and i know the 3g's have a few quirks. Should I be worried?

Check the battery status before you place it back on the dock. If it's full, then it's probably just discharging or misreading it. I had the same issue with a Powerbook 190 once.

Did you ever figure out what was causing this problem? My new iPod is doing the same thing. It will say charged while plugged into the dock, but if I remove it for 1 second and plug it back in it will say that it's charging for a couple more hours or so. Seems very odd.

I don't think I would worry about it...
Even if the battery looks full it might not be full to the brim. Does the screen ever say Charged at the top and show a battery without the lightning bolt and moving bars in the battery? Because it should when the iPod is plugged in and fully charged.

Yes, it says that when it's charged.
