Is This A Good Deal?

it's been $305 for almost 2 days... so far it seems like there are no more bidders... unless they'll wait until the last second to get a bid in...

...for a moderate user, who does mostly relatively simple tasks on their G4. An increasing number of apps are recommending - even requiring - 450mhz minimum. I don't know if any of them apply to you, nor can I think of any off the top of my head, but I think this has been made acceptable by Apple's Final Cut Pro 2's RT effects engine requiring something like 500-550 mhz. Obviously, this does not apply to most apps, so yeah, it may be a good deal.....but I wouldn't bite.

Considering you can run MacOSX on an iBook G3 rather well, then this G4 will have no probs. (Just bump up the RAM past 512mb).

My girlfriend (busy-ness pardner as well) uses the same machine for design, and it works v well (except for Dreamweaver, but that's a Classic-OSX problem).

;)

It doesn't seem to be an AGP graphics version (I think), which makes it one of the very first G4s ever out.

i was thinking of some MiniDV editing in either iMovie or FCP3 (since it's Mac OS X ready.. i don't want to go into OS 9) and some graphics work with Photoshop (when the OS X version comes out) along with some web site creation (probably through dreamweaver or frontpage 2000 in Virtual PC).

that's all i'd really be doing

along with web surfing and e-mailing

would that be a good system for it's cost?

Oh god... in norway they sell systems like that for around 1200 $ or something... Why does Macs have to be sooo expensive in europe? Why? :p

Exactly... ;)
Uhm, I think I have to move to US, buy a couple of G4s, and move back again, heh :p

Hello!

Wow! Hey, when I sell my 733Mhz PowerMac to upgrade to a Ghz I should take a trip down there just to sell it! I wonder how much I could get for my old IIcx :D

Have a great day!
