Idiot
I believe the reason iTunes Music Store is not available in the UK is because of complcated leagal stuff.... Ok.... How come I can log onto http://www.mycokemusic.com on a PC, buy and download music for 50p per track or £4 a full album. or if I get a winning bottle of Coke with special code in the cap, I get a track for free. and that's right here in the UK. It is only for PC's and you cannot even log in with a Mac.

Come on Apple, what's going on????

Here we go again...

mycokemusic is up because it's using a service that has been up and running for quite a while now, OD2. All they had to do was stick a new front end on it.

If Apple had gone with opening iTMS UK seperately then I'm sure it would be open by now, given when they started negotiations. However, they want to open it Europe wide so we'll just have to wait.

As per the old Guinness ads, all good things etc.

europe is not like the US. we have many diff. countries with diff. laws and regulations.
id be very frustrated if england and germany got iTMS.

on the other hand, why is it taking so long for Canada and Australia ?

UK its the UK (or GB) never (or nearly never) are products only release in England with out also being release in Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland - there are 4 countries in the UK not just 1! sorry for the rant but it realy anoys us (scots) and im sure the welsh and irish 2! Yes were not english and hate to be called english but the UK is kind of like one country and England is only a part of it!

According to an article a saw a few weeks ago its "expected" within the next one or two months in Australia. but im not sure if its true.

when is iTMS B'day mabey thats when the world opening will be?

Don't get me wrong I have a lot of confidence in Apple's ability to launch great products and services. But... Knowing how fragmented Europe is and the complexity of music licensing from country to country. I would be surprised if we see iTMS Western Europe before 2005 and who knows when before it is available across all of Europe.

And this is about the sixth or seventh thread about the same subject, too. Please use the search function of the forum before creating a 'new' thread. This is going to be 'news' when there actually _is_ an iTMS Europe. :/
