Can someone please answer some questions about this program...

I am new to trying to set up a Server... I was told on Webworks... (Osx group here) that Itools may be just what I need instead of getting OS X Server...

I use OS X only for all my apps.

What I want to do is this: I want to buy a domain name... Than host the domain from my computer... Is Itools the soultion... please email me if you have a lengthy answer...

No. Firstly, iTools as we know it has become a subscription service known as .mac (dot-mac).

The iTools/.mac homepage service is hosted by Apple's site and uses an address at homepage.mac.com. It is possible to have your domain name redirect to the .mac site, but this has its own little quirks and users will see the .mac address rather than the domain name you want.

While .mac is an option, and is good value for many users, it isn't what you want in this instance.

If you are willing to serve the site from your own mac, and are able to set up a permanent connection to the net, then all you need is a static-ip address and the domain name.

If that's a little expensive, then you can pay someone to host the site for you, meaning you upload the site to a server.

It all depends on what you already have, and what you want to spend.
