ITunes 4

I have QT Pro that I shelled out $30 for recently and the latest version of iTunes. I've seen some discussion here about converting songs to the new (AAC) format by selecting an AIFF song within iTunes and pulling down the Advanced menu and selecting "convert to AAC" or somesuch item. All I see under Advanced is Convert to MP3, which has been there all along.

I can do this in an awkward way using QT Pro, but seems as if there ought to be a better solution. Any suggestions?

I don't see anything more than what you see.

You have to go into iTunes' preferences and set your import prefs to AAC.

ok... and then if I burn a CD, it will be AAC ? Or can I still burn an MP3 CD ?

In iTunes' preferences click on he burning icon. Then click the appropriate radio button for the format of the CD, be it Audio, MP3 or Data.
