iTunes certificate bug?

I have a Mac Pro and have just upgraded to a LaCie 5big Network Storage unit over my failing WD Mybook. If I attempt to move any purchased content whether it be a movie or song or ring tone, off the FW400 Mybook onto the new NAS or for that matter another computer on the LAN, my Mac Pro crashes. I can move the files or folders containing those files any where on my computer or to any drive that is "attached". Attached meaning connected via USB or FireWire. That would mean that the drive is available only to my machine which is authorized. The iTunes support desk allowed me to redownload all of my purchased content. I set the NAS drive as the target within iTunes and it crashed the computer on each download. I only did 2 downloads as I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I'm almost positive this is a certificate/authorization issue but no one at Apple is getting that. I really hate the grey SnowLeopard death screen. I have never had any problems with this machine until I upgraded to SnLpd. On the other hand I never had a Network Drive. I have tried opening a ticket with Apple and iTunes but I'm not getting any answers.
Mac Pro with 2 Quad Core Xeon 2.8 Ghz with 20G of ram.
2 FireWire drives, one 250G and the MyBook 500G raid1. 1 LaCie raid 5 NAS.
