iTunes consistant crash...

I am having trouble with iTunes crashing. I generally just crank up a playlist when I go to bed and let a visual run. Well - now it may be 10 minutes or an hour, but I am guaranteed a crash. Here is what appears every time (other than the date and time):

Date/Time: 2001-12-29 00:35:17 -0600
OS Version: 10.1.2 (Build 5P48)

Command: iTunes
PID: 383

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x02e26628

Anyone know what this might be? If you need further info from me or my crash log, let me know. All I know is that it is quite frustrating for the music to just come to a halt with a crash warning on the screen.

By the way, the visual is WhiteCap...one that I haven't had previous trouble out of.

Let me preface with, my G4 is a really solid machine, and rarely crashes hard in X.

So now that OS X recognizes my Yamaha 8.4.24 SCSI CD burner, I thought I'd be able to use it for MP3 import... boom crash every time. Kernel trace blames the adaptec scsi driver kernel extension.

However, at the same point in the rip/import (like 2% into every song) on my built in drive, I get this flurry of OS processor usage while the import stalls for about 5 seconds.

Although I don't doubt that adaptec's scsi kext is sketchy, iTunes seems to have an issue or two. What the hell is it doing at that point in every rip?
