My wife and I have a iBook G4 that serves duty as our shared iTunes 8.0 library. I moved the iTunes music folder to? /Users/Shared created alias of the folder and moved the alias to both of our /Music/iTunes folders. I enabled personal file sharing in /System Preferences/Sharing. The effect is I can rip or purchase music from either user and have it automatically show up on the other users side, but if iTunes is running on my side her side gets " The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder" I have manually checked the Read Write priviledges for both users and run the Disk Utility. Any fixes so we don't have quit iTunes before switchin users?
