Hi all-
I've got two computers that have been home sharing successfully on iTunes for several months:
PC1: Snow Leopard 10.6.3, iTunes 9.1 (79)
PC2: Windows 7, iTunes 9.1.0.79
My home shares used to work fine, and I haven't made any significant configuration changes to either computers, except that I install all the latest OS updates on both computer whenever prompted by Software Update/Windows Update.
Now, my shares are no longer being detected on either computer. I was able to get the Win7 share to show up on the Mac by disabling and re-enabling the Airport. However, when I click on the share, the screen just sits there with a blank playlist without the usual "connecting..." progress bar. It then kicks me back to my local playlist, and changes the share icon from the home share icon to the regular blue share icon. If I click on the blue share icon, the same thing happens. I get a blank playlist, and then it kicks me out after a few seconds, and this time the share disappears off the list altogether.
Both computers have "Look for shared libraries" and "Share my library on my local network" checked. Both are signed in to the iTunes Store and Home Sharing using the same ID. Both computers' firewalls are off. I can connect to each PC's hard drives using SMB and access the music files on each. I've rebooted each computer several times, signed out and in to the iTunes Store, disabled and re-enabled Home Sharing. I'm stumped.
Any ideas?
